JUDY Skolnick nasceu em Washington DC, cresceu em Silver Spring, Maryland , e viveu ainda em New York City, onde nasceram os filhos, até regressar à terra natal. Foi influenciada pelo movimento hippie, participou nos proptestos contra a guerra no Vietname e nas marchas pelos direitos das mulheres e pelos direitos civis, promovidas pelos muitos políticos que existiam naquelas cidades. Nunca esteve em Portugal. Mas sabe que é um país situado à beira-mar de onde partiram muitos exploradores à descoberta de novas terras.

January 31, 1947, Washington, DC, United States.

2 –  Up to the present day in which cities you lived permanently?

I live in Washington DC at this time and previously lived in Silver Spring, Maryland where I grew up and New York City where both of my children were born one in 1968 and the other in 1975.

3 – Academic qualifications?

I am a college honors graduate of the UNIVERSITY OF Maryland 1972.

My college major was studio art with an art history minor in antiquities.

4 – Professional activity?

I a leasing consultant and front desk attendant in a 499 apartment luxury high rise apartment building in Arlington, Virginia.

5 – The place where you born and live influenced your artistic life? If so, why?

My life was influenced by the hippy movement and anti Vietnam war protests of which I participated in as well as marched for women’s rights and civil rights. The Washington DC and New York City areas have a lot of political activity and marches for various actions because of all of the politicians living there.

6 – When you think in Oporto (Portugal) remember immediately what?

I have never been to Portugal. I think of a seaside country that had a lot of navigation exploration of new lands  in past years

7 – Have you ever visited Oporto? If so, why and what do you think of the city?
